The excitement of landing in Georgia is just the beginning! At TripRents, we understand that after a flight, the last thing you want is a complicated car pickup process. Our goal is to make your transition from Tbilisi International Airport (TBS) directly into your Georgian adventure as welcoming and effortless as stepping into our office.
Here is exactly how we ensure a smooth, transparent and quick handover of your rental vehicle.
Before You Land: A Moment of Preparation
Taking just a moment while you’re airborne or waiting for luggage can save significant time later. Please have the following documents ready for our representative: your valid driver’s License, passport or official ID for identity verification and your preferred payment method ready for the security deposit or the remaining rental balance.
Our Promise of Transparency: We believe in upfront service. The security deposit (if applicable, as we offer many no-deposit options) and final rental cost are clearly detailed in your booking confirmation. When you meet us, you can be absolutely certain there will be no surprise fees waiting for you.
Welcome to Arrivals – Finding Your Representative
Once you clear customs and baggage claim, you will enter the main public Arrivals Hall. This is where your journey officially starts! Walk directly into the Arrivals Hall, passing various services like currency exchange booths. TripRents prides itself on personal service, so we do not use an internal office or counter. Instead, a designated TripRents representative will be waiting just outside the exit, near where the taxis wait. Keep an eye out for our team member holding a clear sign that says “TripRents” along with your name. Our team actively tracks your flight’s status, so even if your flight is delayed, rest assured we will be there waiting for you, ready with a warm Georgian welcome.
The Handover: Paperwork and Peace of Mind
Once we connect, the process is quick, focused on clear communication, and ensuring you feel comfortable.
Our representative will confirm your identity and booking details against the documents you prepared. You will review and sign the rental agreement. Feel free to ask any questions – we are here to clarify our comprehensive full insurance coverage and ensure you understand the terms completely. The representative will process the final rental payment or the refundable security hold.
Your TripRents vehicle will be parked conveniently nearby, and we will walk you over to it. Together, we will conduct a thorough walk-around inspection. This is a vital step! We will point out any existing minor marks or scratches recorded on the vehicle condition form. We encourage you to take your own photos or a video of the car’s exterior and interior before you drive away. This ensures complete agreement and protects you when you eventually return the car.
Navigating Out of TBS
With the keys in hand and a fully inspected car, you are ready to hit the road! The drive from Tbilisi International Airport is straightforward. Once you exit the immediate parking zone, the road quickly merges into the main highway (E60/S4). This route is your direct, modern path into Tbilisi city center (roughly a 20-minute drive). As you begin your journey, remember that the initial highway speed limit is generally 80 km/h. Take your time, get accustomed to the steering on the right side of the road, and enjoy your first sights of Georgia!
